What’s Included:

Do you need feedback on your article, short story, or manuscript? Submit your work to me for beta reading.

You’ll receive a detailed critique focused on language usage, plot and character development, structure, voice, and anything else I find that may assist you in the development of your story.

This is not a proofreading or editing service.

For any work up to 80,000 words, expect up to a 7 day turnaround. Turnaround for longer documents will be discussed with the writer.

By Quote

Proofreading

Give your work a final, professional polish with proofreading. I will review your manuscript, article, blog post, etc for spelling and grammar errors.

I will review your copy, website, documentation for spelling and grammar errors. If you would like additional input on the readability and clarity of your wording and documentation I would be happy to provide input on that too.

I will correct:

  • Grammar
  • Spelling
  • Punctuation

I will deliver:

  • Your proofread manuscript within 7 days
  • One document with suggested edits using MS Word Track Changes
  • One clean copy with all changes accepted

Proofreading is a high level review of your work and does not include the follow:

  • Critique
  • Developmental edits or review of syntax
  • Formatting
  • Creative rewrites

For a more in-depth review of your work, consider requesting copy editing. Please submit at least 10% of your project for review and a custom quote. Rates for proofreading services start at $.02 USD per word. For all proofreading projects, a 50% deposit will be due on acceptance of the quote, with remaining balance due on delivery of the completed documents.

Copy Editing

I edit manually, correcting grammar, spelling, punctuation and syntax, with an added focus on consistency and other technical details to ensure your manuscript conforms to the industry-standard guidelines of The Chicago Manual of Style or the New Oxford Manual of Style.

I will correct:

  • Grammar
  • Spelling
  • Punctuation
  • Syntax
  • Inconsistencies
  • Tense inaccuracies

I will deliver:

  • Your edited manuscript in 21 days
  • One document with suggested edits using MS Word Track Changes
  • One clean copy with all changes accepted

Not included:

  • Developmental edits
  • Creative rewrites

  • Formatting
  • Research
  • Translating

Please submit at least 10% of your project for review and a custom quote. Copy editing starts at a rate of $.04 USD per word. For all copy editing projects, a 50% deposit will be due on acceptance of the quote, with remaining balance due on delivery of the completed edits.
