    Anthologies

I was invited to contribute to an anthology with thoughts about Jane Austen. I’m honored to be among 22 authors who contributed to this project. Ms. Austen is among my favorite writers and an inspiring person. I hope you’ll check out this book!

From the back cover: Although social and moral guidelines have slipped and changed (like the style of dress or undress) since Jane Austen wrote her books, the stories are still relevant to today’s readers. Those readers promote, defend, discuss, and have thoughts and opinions about JA and everything they can learn about her, as you will read within. Why are we still reading and discussing Jane Austen’s s, novels, letters, and quotes 200 years after she has passed away? Read on and you will learn.

Ever the procrastinator, Hillary waits to the last minute to find housing. But fate smiles upon her, when she takes a room in a picturesque Victorian home, run as a boarding house. Abandoned by her mother in early childhood, Noa was raised by her distant, apathetic grandmother. But a trip to the library in search of her new love, spy thrillers, leads Noa to a life long friendship with a librarian. Fast forward and Noa has established a successful travel blog and her librarian friend has become more like family.

A note in the pocket of a vintage jacket turns a working trip to Vancouver into a mission for a spy international network. The mission is simple. Take a package to a hotel restroom and leave. When things take an unexpected turn, Noa suddenly finds herself in a high stakes game of cat and mouse. Noa quickly finds all the novels in the world are no preparation for the game she’s playing. Will she complete her mission?

    My Next Novel

My work in progress is titled Ruth Long, Age 88 and is book one of a six book series. Ruth Long is the un-apologetically sarcastic matriarch of a mid-west family. The story is a first person narrative as Ruth reflects on her life, her relationships, and her family. Because Ruth Long has recently died. The story takes place on the day of her funeral as she picks apart the way her family choose to memorialize her with a deliciously sharp wit.

Featured Poem- From the Archives: Come Not Here

Greetings reader! Like many of you, I’ve been keeping busy during this period of quarantine with lots of cleaning and reorganizing projects. This weekend, looking through some tote tubs of old treasures of high school debate trophies, old photos, tchotchkes, day planners and yearbooks, I happened on some files of my old writings. As I…
